The Mary Kay Foundation Innovative/Translation Cancer Research

The Mary Kay Foundation Cancer Research Program supports innovative translational research in ovarian, uterine, breast or cervical cancer. Goal is to improve diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, or treatment of cancers that affect women. Studies often focus on very specific genes, proteins and enzymes. The program awards 10 to 15 one-to-two year grants with a maximum amount of $100,000 each. Georgetown University has been invited to submit one grant application.

Previous Research Topics:

• Harnessing the immune system to treat breast cancer
• Tackling metastatic breast cancer
• Suppressing cervical cancer’s progression
• An early detection method for ovarian cancer

If you are interested in pursuing this opportunity, please submit:

• a one-page outline of your research proposal
• a NIH-type biosketch (5-page limit)

as a single document (both abstract and biosketch) to Jennifer Kluge at jck67@georgetown.edu no later than Monday, December 17, 2018. The External Awards Review Committee will review these applications to select the University’s applicant.

Eligibility

• Must be faculty, research scientists, postdocs or other full-time staff at eligible institutions.
• Must be no more than 10 years past receiving the terminal advanced degree in their field (M.S., Ph.D. or M.D.).

Awards:

10 to 15 one-to-two year grants with a maximum amount of $100,000 each
