The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation

The Cafritz Foundation supports work that improves the lives of DC-area residents, with a particular emphasis on vulnerable and underserved individuals. The foundation funds projects that provide comprehensive services and work towards systemic change, which addresses all levels of, and all who are affected by, the issue. Proposed projects should employ effective partnering and show cultural competence in engaging effectively with communities and people of various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. Funder’s grant-making areas include Arts and Humanities, Community Services (Community Development; Children, Youth, and Families; Justice: Access, Violence Prevention, Reentry), Education, Environment and Health.
APPLICATION MATERIALS
Georgetown University has been invited to put forward up to three projects for consideration, in consultation with the funder. If you would like to pursue this opportunity, please submit:
- A one-page project description
- A NIH-type biosketch (5 page limit)
AMOUNT
Varies; average grant size is $50,000. Grants are awarded for general operating, as well as program or project support. Generally awards only one-year grants.

- Internal Application: April 29, 2019
- Full Application (if nominated): July 1, 2019 by 5pm
